The bustling city of Frankfurt is one of Germany’s thriving business centers. Frankfurt is considered Germany’s premier industrial and manufacturing city. Goethe was born in Frankfurt in the 18th century. Many visitors come to the city to visit his childhood home which has been turned into a museum and repository of his works. The house has been refurbished but retains its 18th century décor and charm. The library and many other rooms in the house are open to the public. The museum has a large collection of the works of Goethe. The Frankfurter Goethe Museum is built next to the house and on display many manuscripts, poems, and painting by and about the famous man who called Frankfurt home.
